Norma Jean Simpson, 64, of Canton, died at 3:04 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 1996, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born Aug. 12, 1931, in Astoria, a daughter of Cletus and Gladys Nigh Farr Palmer. She married Rolland W. Hart on Feb. 26, 1971, in Canton. He died Aug. 27, 1976. She later married Louis H. Simpson on Oct. 14, 1989, in Canton. He died March 27, 1993. One brother and one grandson also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Michael Lillie of Okeechobee, Fla.; two daughters, Luann Mallicoat of Norris and Antonia Stanfill of Bartonville; one brother, Bernard Palmer of Pekin; one sister, Judy Moose of Cable, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was a maintenance worker for Fulton County Housing, where she took care of Longview Apartments for 17 years, retiring Dec. 12, 1994.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home with Rev. Jay Curry officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
