MARY JANE (SHILLING) SNIDER

Mary Snider

Mary Jane Snider, 78, of Canton, died at 10:47 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 1995, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born May 6, 1917, in Browning, a daughter of Forrest and Coyle (Woodard) Shilling. She married David Snider on Dec. 13, 1936, in Morton. He survives.

Other survivors include one son, Bill Snider of Canton; three daughters, Sharon Branchfield of Fountaintown, Ind., and Marilyn Hedges and Susan Bowling, both of Canton; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jack of Peoria, and Jim and Jay, both of Havana; and two sisters, Evelyn Madson of Havana and Jean Richardson of Lewistown.

She was preceded in death by one great-grandson and two sisters.

She was a member of the Nazarene Church and the Canton Area Chamber of Commerce. She was a co-owner of Snider’s Bait & Tackle, and was employed at Sunset Nursing Home in Canton.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Assembly of God Church with Rev. Allen Worlin, Rev. Kevin Van Tine and Rev. Bud Raker officiating. Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.

Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Society.
