MARY HELEN (FRANK) WOODDELL SMITH

Mary Smith

Mary Helen Smith, 69, of Bryant, died at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 1995, at Graham Hospital Extended Care Unit in Canton.

She was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Canton, the daughter of Charles and Pauline Martin Frank. She married Milburn Woodell. She later married Ralph Smith on Sept. 5, 1969, in Galesburg. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth Woodell of Denver and Richard Woodell of Lamar, Colo.; two stepsons, Dale Smith of Lewistown and Gale Smith of Bryant; two daughters, Jean Riley of Canton and Marie Winters of Aztec, N.M.; two stepdaughters, Marjorie Weaver of West Peoria and Judy Ellis of St. David; 13 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her stepfather, Everett McWhorter of Canton; and a step-sister, Wilma Herink of Vermont.

She was a cook at Juanita’s Coffee Shop for 15 years. She was a member of Bryant Christian Church.

Funeral services were held this morning at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Robert O’Connor officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.

Memorials may be made to Spoon River Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
