VeteranRonny J. Sears Of Ipava Dies

Ronny J. Sears, 42, of Ipava died at 7:28 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 1990, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born March 12, 1948, in Canton, a son of Gerald and Wilmadean Atwater Sears. He married Nancy Spencer on Jan. 12, 1979, in Ipava. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Ipava; two daughters, Amanda and Andrea, both at home; and one half-brother, Jerry Sears of Seneca.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A lifelong Ipava area resident, he worked for Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 21 years. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of Ipava American Legion Post 17 and Ipava Masonic Lodge. He was a lifetime member of the Lewistown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. James Stovall officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery where military rites were accorded.

Masonic services were held at the funeral home on Monday evening.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children established at Ipava State Bank.
