Clarence “Bill” Selby, 60, of Havana, died at 9:25 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 1990, at St. John’s Hospice Unit in Springfield.
He was born May 29, 1929, in Chandlerville, the son of Charles and Freda (Witherall) Selby. He married Margie Waldo on Nov. 3, 1963, in Petersburg. She died on June 21, 1978.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Mrs. Dandy Wilmoth of Cuba; three stepsons, Gary Waldo of Astoria, Norman Waldo of Macomb, and Chuck Waldo of Kilbourne; two brothers, Kenneth of Havana and Richard Selby Hurt of Riverton; and four half brothers, LeRoy Witherall of Topeka, Charley Griffin of Havana, John Griffin of St. Joseph, Mo., and James Griffin of Kilbourne.
A member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Kilbourne, he had been a timber cutter.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with Rev. Roger Boyd officiating. Burial was at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
