Ruth Shores, 72, of 200 Hurst Ave., Havana, died at 9:40 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 1985, in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.
She was born Nov. 21, 1912, in Chandlerville, the daughter of Clint and Belle (Watkins) Griffin. She married Raymond Shores and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Patsy Curless of Astoria, Mrs. Dorla Reavis of Divernon, and Mrs. Margaret (Peggy) Walker of Springfield; seven granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Griffin of Jacksonville and Willard Griffin of Louisiana; and one sister, Mrs. Valora Rainey of Pekin.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hurley Funeral Home, Havana, with Rev. Martin Arni officiating. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Children’s Fund of Havana Housing.
