Mrs. Helen Sanders Dies In Kewanee

Mrs. George (Helen) Sanders, 76, of 117 W. Division, Kewanee, died at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 1980, in Kewanee Public Hospital.

Born May 26, 1904, in Astoria, a daughter of James and Lena Stephens, she married Mr. Sanders Sept. 15, 1929, in Rushville.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Ellis (Lois) Stabler of Kewanee, Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Suhanek of Mount Prospect; one son, James of Peoria; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Muriel Heath and Miss Nellie Stephens, both of Astoria; and one brother, William Stephens, also of Astoria.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marianne.

She was a member of Kewanee United Methodist Church, its Berean Sunday School class, Kewanee Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary and was a member and past president of 40 et 8.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon in Cavanagh & Schueneman Funeral Home in Kewanee with Rev. Larry Conrad officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

Eastern Star services were held at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Funeral Home.
