Clarence E. Severns, 85, was found dead in bed by his wife early Monday morning, following a one year illness.
Mr. Severns was born near Havana, Jan. 12, 1870, a son of John and Rebecca (Beaty) Severns. He was married in 1900 to Dolla Diamond, who survives.
Mr. Severns was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church.
Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Eula Saville of Peoria; two sons, Holland and Carl Severns, both of Astoria; and one granddaughter, Miss Jan Yvonne Saville of Peoria. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Shawgo Memorial Home, conducted by Rev. Dale Ferris. Burial in Astoria cemetery.
