Aged Woodland Township Man Answers Call

James Addison Shelley, son of Daniel and Susan Hoffman Shelley, was born in Augusta County, Va., May 4, 1852. Passed away at his home in Woodland township, March 4, 1930, at the age of 77 years and ten months.

At the age of four years he came to Illinois with his parents in a covered wagon. He recalled vividly the experiences and hardships of the wagon train.

He was united in marriage to Lillian Shields Oct. 24, 1893. To this union one child was born, Miss Mildred, who resides at home.

Mr. Shelley is the last of a family of nine children. Five sisters and three brothers have preceded him in death. He is survived by the above named wife and daughter, together with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Summum Christian church Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, conducted by the pastor W. T. Nichols. Interment at the Summum cemetery.

Woodland Man Dies

Adam Shelley died at his home in Woodland Tuesday night at 10:30, aged about 78 years.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been arranged.
