She was born May 12, 1921, in Pierson, Iowa, a daughter of Frank and Freida Neubauer Bierman. She married Robert A. “Red” Ritchey on Oct. 19, 1942, in Chicago. He preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1997.
She also was preceded in death by three children, Barbara Trone, Dean Ritchey and Peggy Lyttaker; one sister, Fern Woltman; and four brothers, Francis, John, Wendell and Junior Bierman.
Surviving are two sons, James Ritchey of Macomb and Dennis Ritchey of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Linda Davis of Meredosia and Karen Taylor of Rushville; one sister, Doris Kintigls of Pierson, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She worked 29 years as an aide at Snyder-Vaughn Haven Nursing Home in Rushville. She was a member of Rushville First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Sugar Grove North Cemetery with Rev. Terry Lucas officiating. There will be no visitation. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
