She was born Jan. 25, 1980, in Joliet, a daughter of Steven and Cheryl Rees.
Surviving are her parents of Washington, Ill.; one sister, Jenni (and Greg) Frazier of Springfield; one brother, Ben (and Laura) Rees of Galesburg; grandparents, Dick and Shirley Deary of Minooka, formerly of Astoria, and Jessie Rees of Joliet; three nieces; and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jacob Rees; and one grandfather, Marshall Rees.
In Illinois, she worked at the Peoria Civic Center and Caterpillar. In California, she was a music teacher at School of Rock in Palo Alto and a teacher and personal trainer at Goldman Sports and Wellness Complex.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria with Reverend Mike Shirey officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Celebration of Life. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
