Evelyn RenoEvelyn Mae Reno, 86, of Havana died at 5:49 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2005, at ManorCare Health Services in Normal.

She was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Carl G. and Dolla Conner Shaffer. She married Herman Garrett Reno on Sept. 17, 1944, in Browning. He died Dec. 2, 1987.

Surviving are one son, Gary of Orpington, England; one daughter, Diana (and Lou) Schierbeck of Oronogo, Mo.; one sister, Esther Irwin of Lewistown; and three grandchildren.

She was a Woman Ordnance Worker from December 1942 to May 1943 in Peoria, Rockford and Litchfield.

She had worked for the National Youth Administration. She worked as a waitress at several local restaurants and as a custodian at the Havana Driver's License Facility. She also worked at the Atwood Factory in Havana and Emmerson Electric in St. Louis.

She and her husband owned and operated City Service Gas Station in Havana.

She attended Grace Baptist Church in Havana.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Darrel Auten officiating. Burial will be in Summum Cemetery in Summum.
