LOIS G. (FANNING) ROSE

Lois Rose

Lois G. Rose, 73, of Astoria died at 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

She was born May 30, 1930, in Virginia, a daughter of Raymond and Velda Knippenberg Fanning. She married Russell F. Rose on July 10, 1950, in Beardstown. He died March 15, 1982.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Fanning.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (and Melvin) Edmiston of Astoria and Shirley (and Robert) Pope of Granite City; one son, Roger of Granite City; one sister, Dorothy Freeman of Astoria; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was a member of Astoria Church of the Brethren.

She was a homemaker.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Gary Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois.
