Betty J. Rogers, 73, of Astoria, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Beardstown.
She was born Feb. 3, 1926, in Beardstown, a daughter of Huey and Henrietta Turner Herron. She married Laurence O. Rogers on June 24, 1944, in Beardstown. He preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1993.
Surviving are one son, Larry (and Kathy) Rogers of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. William (Sue Ann) Herrick of Troy, Mo.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Thomas Herron, and James Herron, both of Beardstown, Donald (Duck) Herron of Chandlerville and Dick Herron of Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys, and an infant brother and sister.
She worked for the Beardstown Glove Factory and later at the P.A.G. Seed Company.
She is a member of the Summum Christian Church.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Summum Christian Church. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
