ELVIRA MARIE (WHERLEY) MARTIN RAYHILL

Elvira Rayhill

Elvira Marie Rayhill, 65, of Colorado Springs, Colo., since 1977, formerly of Astoria and Eureka, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996, at IHS Parkmoor Village Drive nursing home in Colorado Springs.

She was born March 16, 1931, in Astoria, the daughter of Roy and Bernice Hulbey Wherley. She married Harry Rayhill on Dec. 30, 1966, in Eureka. He preceded her in death, as did two brothers.

Surviving are three daughters, Lorie Rayhill and Paula Commuso, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sherry Hamilton of Grand Junction, Colo.; six sons, John Martin of Illinois, Curtis Martin of Missouri, Jerry Martin of Montana, Tomm Martin of Germany, and Randy and Danny Rayhill, both of Colorado Springs; two brothers, Eldon Wherley of Illinois and Cliff Wherley of Texas; and 14 grandchildren.

She was a nurse’s aide at The Medallion retirement home in Colorado Springs.

Graveside services were held Monday at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.

Evergreen Funeral Home in Colorado Springs was in charge of arrangements.
