Clifford WherleyClifford Roy Wherley, 85, of Greenville, Texas, died Feb. 8, 2013, at Smith Nursing Home and Rehab in Wolfe City, Texas.

He was born May 28, 1927, in Astoria, the son of Bernice Hulvey and Roy Wherley.

He married June Rogers. She passed away. He later married Juanita. She survives.

Also surviving are five children and one stepdaughter, all of Texas.

He was a World War II Veteran, always seen wearing his World War II Veterans hat. He served in United States Army Air Corp and United States Navy. He joined the Army at age 14 and was given an Honorable Discharge (at age 16) after the Army discovered he was underage. He enlisted in the Navy at age 17, and served for two years.

Services were held at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas on Feb. 14 with military honors. R.W. Owens and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
