Alleyne Margret Rhoads, 75, Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, May 26, 1996, at her home.
She was born March 4, 1921, in Astoria, a daughter of Clarence Wright and Dottie Faye Durkin. She married Russell Boyce Rhoads on Jan. 5, 1944, in Astoria. He preceded her in death Jan. 15, 1972.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Prather and Mary West, both of Jefferson City; one sister, Alberta Taggart, Canton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She attended Astoria High School. She was employed by Dr. H. Kanagawa for 15 years, Gamms Shoe Store for five years, and Westinghouse for 10 years until her retirement. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held last Wednesday at Buescher Memorial Home with Rev. Roger Driggs officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association or the American Cancer Society.
