VeteranNorman Reneau

Norman Wayne Reneau, 63, of Oquawka, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

He was born June 3, 1933, in Ipava, the son of Wayne and Mary Pickering Reneau. He married Barbara Johnson in Abingdon. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Jane) Hurst of Marion and Jennifer Reneau of St. Louis; and one grandson.

One son, Matthew, preceded him death.

A World War II Navy veteran, he was a member of Ipava American Legion Post 0017. He worked at the former Gale Manufacturing in Galesburg and was a construction worker. He last worked for Amax Coal Co. in Marion, retiring in1995. He was a member of Laborers International Union of North America Local 538 and United Mine Workers 7031 District 12.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel with Rev. Jay Cowell officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery, near Table Grove, where military rites will be accorded.
