Mrs. Irma J. Ray, 83, of Rushville, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 1990, in Culbertson Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 8, 1906, in Schuyler County, a daughter of William J. and Ada E. (Rockwell) Jones. She married Wilmer Ray Feb. 27, 1927, in Rushville. He died Jan. 22, 1986.
Surviving are two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four great, great-grandchildren; one brother, William R. Jones of LaGrande, Ore.; and a sister, Shirley Rittenhouse of Rushville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jack.
Mrs. Ray was a member of the Bader Christian Church.
She attended Western Illinois University and Eureka College. She taught rural schools in Schuyler County before her marriage. She was the manager of the ladies sportswear department for Boston Department Store in Englewood, Calif., many years before retiring.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Ervin officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
