Thomas Rakestraw passed away at his home in Vermont last Thursday from a heart attack. He was born in Coshocton County, Ohio on June 25, 1858. He was the son of Wilson and Phoebe Smith Rakestraw, moving here with his parents from Ohio when but a small boy, by wagon. He was a carpenter by trade.
He was united in marriage to Miss Edith Renner of Vermont. He is survived by two children, Gilbert Rakestraw of Madison, Wis., and Rebecca Legge of Chicago. Also four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Sylvia Hickle of Browning and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was laid to rest in the Salem cemetery.
