Jimmy A. “Jap” Parry, 69, of Ipava died at 10:30 p.m. April 26, 2025, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 14, 1956, in Macomb, a son of Robert and Barbara Wickert Parry.
Surviving are one sister, Linda (and Gail Scott) Shaw of Macomb; three nieces, Monica (and Jeff) Braun of Lewistown, Neisha Shaw of Good Hope and Sonja (and Josh) Peterson of Havana; nine great-nieces and nephews; two great-great-nephews; and caregivers, including Christy Horton of Ipava.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Danny Parry.
He was a machine operator for MSD in Canton for several years. He was also a bartender and cook at Rosie’s Tap and Terry’s Tap for several years.
He was a member of the Ipava Sons of the American Legion Squadron 17, Bernadotte Park Board, Ipava Sportsman Club and served as an officer in each at one point or another.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday at the Ipava American Legion. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
