Edna PetersonEdna Peterson, 91, of Macomb, formerly of Brooklyn, died at 1:16 p.m. April 15, 2019, at The Elms in Macomb.

She was born March 14, 1928, in McDonough County, a daughter of Lloyd L. and Cloah Pearl Lickey Lung. She married Robert “Bob” Peterson on Sept. 19, 1947, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2019.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Roy “Bud” Lung.

Surviving are three daughters, Roberta McClure and Susan (and Randall) Carson, both of Colchester and Juanita (and Lynn) Bainter of Macomb; three sisters, Helen Koester of Macomb, Emmie Vawter of Industry and Theda Bedwell of Peoria; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A 1946 graduate of Rushville High School, she received her Teaching Certificate from Western Illinois Teachers College. She taught at the Center School in Birmingham Township. She was postmaster at the Brooklyn Post Office. She was a production assistant at the Appletree Press in Rushville.

She attended Brooklyn United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Dan Wise officiating. Burial will follow in the Camden West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
