Lucille Pierce

Lucille Pierce, 97, of Havana, formerly of Bluff City, died at 4:37 a.m. Oct. 16, 2013, in Mason District Hospital in Havana.

She was born Dec. 21, 1915, in Tennessee, Ill., a daughter of Harry and Sarah Jane (Badger) Dorethy. She married Dale D. Pierce on Oct. 1, 1933, in Carthage. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1990.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Walter Lynn Pierce; two sisters, Irene Bastabel and Lela Wilson; and four brothers, Ivan, Harley, Ed and Vern Dorethy.

Surviving are two daughters, Darlene Harris of Edwardsville and Donna Eilman of Havana; two sons, Dr. Ron (and Sharon) Pierce of Lincoln and Darrell (and Debby) Pierce of Browning; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker.

She was a graduate of Colchester High School. She lived in Tennessee and Roseville before moving to Browning in 1944.

Services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Ken Peterson officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
