He was born Jan. 18, 1959, in Avon. He married Angela Stuber on Aug. 22, 1989, in Lewistown. She survives.
Also surviving are his parents, Gene and Iona Wells Haggerty of Smithfield; his biological father, Andrew L. Payne Sr. of Walnut Grove; one son, Andrew L. Payne III, and one daughter, Aelissa J. Payne, both at home; four sisters, Tina (and Robert) Reed of Rockford, Carol Haggerty and Stacy Haggerty, both of Smithfield and Sheryl (and Ralph) Kindhart of Plymouth; and several half brothers and half sisters.
He was preceded in death by one son, Andrew Stephen Emery Payne; paternal grandparents, Bud and Bessie Payne; and maternal grandparents, Stephen and Mabel Wells.
He attended Ellisville Christian Church.
He attended Cuba High School and was in the class of 1977.
He was employed by David Sartorius at Sand Hill Materials as a loader operator.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Glen (Rick) Weiss Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Wiley Cemetery in rural Ellisville.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children c/o MidAmerica National Bank in Cuba.
