Death Of Mrs. Patterson

Mrs. Alice N. Lee Patterson was born in Effingham, Illinois, December 7, 1859 and died in Chicago, Illinois, October 15, 1910. At the time of her death she was 50 years, 8 months and 8 days of age. Mrs. Patterson was the daughter of Mrs. Henry Baker, of Astoria. Her immediate living relatives are as follows: Her mother, Mrs. H. W. Baker, Astoria, a brother, Charles Lee, also of Astoria; three half-sisters, namely: Mrs. Elizabeth Burrell, Canton, Illinois; and Mesdames Georgia Phipps and Hattie Green, Astoria; Von L. Baker, Virginia, Ill., and John Baker, Moline, Ill.; a son, Roy Patterson, Chicago, Illinois; and one grandson.

Until a short time ago, Mrs. Patterson had been engaged in the grocery and bakery business in Chicago. Because of ill health she was obliged to give up her business, and, at the time of her death was making her home with her son. While she had been suffering from nervous prostration and other physical disorders for several years, she did not become seriously ill until about six months ago. The final illness which resulted in her death came upon her one week ago last Sunday.

Mrs. Patterson became an active member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1876. She loved the church and served her Lord in an exemplary way. She was a member of the Royal neighbors fraternal society, having joined the order thirteen years ago at Brookfield, Mo.

She is gone. God is caring for her soul. Her loved ones mourn her departure and the friends and neighbors extend the grief stricken their sympathies.

The body of the deceased was brought from Chicago and the funeral was held at the Baker residence of this city at 3:00, Monday afternoon. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. C. M. Wilson. Burial of body in Astoria cemetery.

He shall prepare thy way.
