She was born March 24, 1927, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Harry and Leah Mathias Grove. She married DeVere Ogden on Dec. 28, 1947, in Astoria. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1988.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Edna Garlisch.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth Ogden of Cuba; three daughters, Nancy (and Kevin) Roberts of Bryant, Patty (and Gary) Merrill of Canton and Brenda (and Chris) VanAllman of Chicago; and five grandchildren.
She was a secretary at Astoria High School for several years following her graduation. She also worked for Lutheran Social Services in home health care. Mostly, she was a farmer’s wife, helping out on the family farm.
She was a member of Providence Church in rural Lewistown, where she was a member of the Friendship Club.
Services were held Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor David Meader officiating. Burial was at Astoria Cemetery.
