VeteranCaptain Oldroyd

The death of Capt. O. H. Oldroyd was announced from his late home in Washington, D.C., last week. He was a soldier in the Civil war and in 1873, married Ann Eliza Stoneberger of Springfield. He was Custodian of the Lincoln Homestead a dozen years till 1893 when they moved to Washington, D.C. Here he assembled the famous collection of Lincoln Relics which were sold for $50,000 to the government later.

Mrs. Oldroyd was a niece of the late John Stoneberger of Astoria and the last cousin in that family to the late Mary J. Stoneberger Diehl. A daughter born in 1874, survives.
