Danny Norton

Danny Lee Norton, 75, of Rushville died at 3:40 p.m. May 29, 2022, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

He was born Feb. 25, 1947, in Brimson, Mo., a son of Clarence and Mary Gott Norton. He married Lou Ann Billingsley on Oct. 6, 1968, in Pleasant View. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Danny Michael (and Amy M.) Norton of Vincennes, Ind., and Jeremy E. (and Amy R.) Norton of Rushville; two brothers, George (and Shirley) Norton of Rushville and Richard Norton of Jacksonville; one sister, Suzie (and Paul) Smith of Virginia; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence “Dusty” Norton.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He attended Beardstown First Christian Church.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ebenezer Cemetery southeast of Rushville in Bainbridge Township with Pastor Mike Courson and Pastor Jeremy Norton officiating. Inurnment will follow with military honors by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U.S. Navy Honors Detail.
