James NateJames T. Nate, 94, of Canton died at 5:31 a.m. Sept. 4, 2015, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Dec. 24, 1920, a son of Threll and Elsie Pearl Murphy Nate. He first married Margaret Jean Weaver. He later married Jeanette A. Duda and she preceded him in death.

He also was preceded by three sisters, Mildred Barrett, Mary Dietz and Francis Nate; and two half-brothers, Tom Nate and Patrick Nate.

Surviving are one daughter, Lynda Bates of Canton; one step son, Kenneth (and Rose) Janois of Carson City, Nev; one half-brother, Jack Nate of Texas; one half-sister, Dorothy Morrison of Texas; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He retired with 35 years of service from United Airlines in San Francisco where he was manager over aircraft maintenance.

He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving from 1942-46.

Cremation will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Reverend Danie deBeer officiating. Military services will be conducted at the cemetery by the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
