Lennart NelsonLennart NelsonLennart G. "Len" Nelson, 85, of Canton died at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 6, 1916, in Burlington, Iowa, a son of John and Selma M. Melberg Nelson. He married Geraldine L. "Jeri" Crago on April 3, 1942, in Burlington. She died Aug. 17, 1995.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Jackie (and Gary) Green of Table Grove; and two granddaughters, Cindy Green of Table Grove and Connie Green of Springfield.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He worked at Canton Motor Sales and later worked at Mid Century Telephone before retiring July 1, 1978.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service was held Monday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Dr. Robert Holler officiating. Cremation has been accorded. Burial of ashes was in Greenwood Cemetery.
