Mrs. Onna Mae Newell, 90, a patient at Myers Nursing Home in Beardstown, formerly of Astoria, died at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 1980, in the nursing home.
Born Dec. 19, 1889, at Browning, a daughter of Louis B. and Carrie Warren Stambaugh, she married Grover Newell, who preceded her in death.
One son, two brothers and one sister also preceded her.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Merritt of Dallas, Tex. and Mrs. Grace Hughes of Astoria.
She was a member of Astoria United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in the Bader Cemetery.
Visitation will be this evening (Wednesday) at Shawgo’s.
