Harold McMillan

Harold Dean McMillan, 90, of Astoria died at 5:25 a.m. June 9, 2019, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Canton, a son of Chester F. and Edna Ball McMillan. He married Mary Louise Danner in 1965. She preceded him in death in 1985.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Danner; and one brother, Chester F. McMillan Jr.

Surviving are three children, Harold “Skeeter” McMillan Jr., Barbara (and the late Leon) Skien and Tana (and Joe) France; one brother, Howard McMillan; six sisters, Mildred Anderson, Francille (and Jack) Boots, Betty Summers, Roxy George, Linda McMillan and Susan Henderson; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

He was a veteran for the Navy with 20 years of service. He was a member of the Astoria American Legion.

Graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Cemetery in rural Canton with Chaplain Katie Gallagher officiating. Sedgwick Funeral Homes in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
