Betty J. Moore, 83, of Frederick died at 9:30 a.m. April 14, 2017, at her home.Betty J. Moore, 83, of Frederick died at 9:30 a.m. April 14, 2017, at her home.
She was born Dec. 31, 1933, in Ripley, a daughter of Russell Roscoe and Ruby Pearl Gossage Moore.
Surviving are one son, Kem (and Marlene) Moore of Yates City; three sisters, Lena Lambert of Beardstown, Nina Young of Ripley and Kaye Jones of Mount Sterling; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her longtime companion Jack Strong; and three sisters, Opal Hedges, Rosalie Childers and Faye Corbin.
She was a long-time caregiver for the elderly and also worked at the Sugar Grove Store for many years.
She attended the Black Oak Church and Rushville Church of the Nazarene.
Services were held Tuesday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend Fred Fritz officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Springfield.
