Danny MooreDanny R. Moore, 67, of Rushville died at 4:25 a.m. Dec. 23, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born Aug. 25, 1949, in Rushville, a son of Bob and Alberta Hillyer Moore. He married Lynn Ingles on March 3, 1973, in Rushville.

Surviving are two children, Chris (and Sarah) Moore of Rushville and Joey (and Chris) Fritz of Bluff Springs; two brothers, Larry (and Retha) Vincent and Terry (and companion Kathi Albertson) Moore, all of Jacksonville; two sisters, Marilyn (and Gary) Kimbro of Browning and Cheryl (and Jim) Wheelhouse of Rushville; his companion, Diana Estes; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He attended Rushville High School and worked for 19 years at Oscar Mayer in Beardstown. He then began his career in harness racing as an owner, trainer and driver. He was the owner of Moore Stables, retiring in 2006. In 1996 and 1997, he was named Driver of the Year. He later worked with his brother Terry at HTH and his brother-in-law at Jim Wheelhouse Construction.

He was a member of the Schuyler County Fair Board and the U.S. Harness Racing Association.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend Fred Fritz officiating. Burial will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery.
