Norman Morrell

Norman MorrellNorman Lyle Morrell, 69, of Augusta died at 6:15 p.m. Sept. 14, 2015, at his home.

He was born March 24, 1946, in McDonough County, a son of Lloyd Kenneth and Clara Lorena Cady Morrell. He married Sharon K. Lambert on July 10, 1983, in Vero Beach, Fla. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Rachel Morrell of Vero Beach, Fla.; one sister, Doris Vincent of Rushville; one granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Bradford and Harlan Morrell.

He attended Camden Grade School and graduated from Rushville High School in 1965. He then joined the United States Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam.

He and his wife resided in Vero Beach for 23 years. While there he was employed by Burt Reynolds ranch where he was a horse trainer. He also worked refinishing wood furniture and doing western style leather tooling designs. He and his wife moved back to Illinois in 2002.

Cremation will be accorded.

Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy in his memory.
