Dr. Wayne Wesley “Doc” Mounts, 91, of Macomb died at 2:36 p.m. Nov. 10, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Owensville, Ind., a son of Lawrence Wesley and Edith Shelton Boren Mounts. He married Norma Howard on Feb. 18, 1944. She passed away on April 20, 1998.

He also was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther Goodson, Helen Armstrong and Dorothy Williams.

Surviving are two nieces, Debbie (and Bob) Carithers of Table Grove and Annette (and Russell) Hamm of Macomb, whom he raised from childhood; one brother, Hugh (and Pat) Mounts of Indiana; one sister, Sarah Grubb of Indiana; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He worked as a dentist from 1951 until his retirement in 1998. He did his pre-dentistry at Western Illinois University in Macomb, and received his doctorate in dentistry from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.

He lived in Table Grove for many years before moving to Macomb in 1979.

He was a member of Table Grove Community Church, Table Grove American Legion and Macomb Kiwanis. He also was a 32 degree Mason and a Shriner.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-46 as a dental technician serving at Camp Ellis from the time it opened until it closed.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Table Grove Community Church with Reverend Rob Harrison officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb where Masonic services will be held at 5 p.m. by Macomb Masonic Lodge. Burial will be held in Harris Cemetery west of Table Grove where full military rites will be conducted by Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW.
