Carl J. McCausland, 84, of Lewistown died at 4:30 a.m. July 12, 2006, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Aug. 19, 1921, in Mason County, a son of James H. and Ethel Boehm McCausland. He married Virginia Butler on May 22, 1943, in Montgomery, Ala. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Marty (and Mark) German of Elmwood; two sisters, Floreine Harris of East Peoria and Eileen Keithley of Bath; two brothers, Vernon (and Dorene) of Havana and Gerald of Canton; six grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Cathy Cox and Mary Ann Mills-Krause.

He was a World War II Army Air Corps pilot instructor from 1942-1946.

He was an agriculture teacher at Lewistown High School and Spoon River College, retiring in 1983.

He was a member of Lewistown United Methodist Church, Lewistown Lions Club, Lewistown American Legion Post 1 and Lewistown Lodge 104 AF & AM.

Services were held Saturday at his church with Rev. Bill Bunnage officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of arrangements.
