ROSE M. (BRUKETTA) MARINICH

Rose Marinich

Rose M. Marinich, 91, formerly of Canton, died at 10:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington, where she was a resident.

She was born Aug. 30, 1913, in Farmington, a daughter of John and Sylvia Liker Bruketta. She married Anthony James "Tony" Marinich on Feb. 12, 1938. He died Jan. 28, 1995.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are three sons, Anthony (and Mary Ann) of Seattle, Nicholas (and Patricia) of Yale, Mich., and Joseph (and Marsha) of Annadale, Va.; three daughters, Marcella (and Gordon) Tuveson of Frederick, Md., Joan Marinich of Canton and Maryanne (and Bruce) Chrisman of Carbondale; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Nicholas Bruketta of Table Grove and Peter (and Shirley) Bruketta of Elmwood; and one sister, Catherine (and Robert) Shragal of Galesburg.

A member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau, she farmed with her husband.

She was a member of Croatian Fraternal Union and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canton.

A funeral Mass was held Friday at her church with Rev. Arthur Meyer officiating. Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery.
