Guy McConahay, 94, of Rushville died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Astoria Manor in Astoria.
He was born May 19, 1907, in Schuyler County, the son of Fredrick and Bessie Danner McConahay. He married Ermond Lucille Wheelhouse on May 19, 1929. She died in May 1982.
One son, Don; three sisters; and one grandson also preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Randy of Chicago and Keith of Canton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He farmed east of Rushville for many years, retiring in 1970. When he was younger, he was a coal miner and operated a mine with his father-in-law. He also worked at Farmer's Service Elevator in Rushville for many years, retiring in 1972.
Services were held Monday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rosalee Ross officiating. Burial was in Sugar Grove North Cemetery, north of Rushville.
