Frieda M. McCormick, 81, of Astoria was pronounced dead on arrival at 4:49 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 1988, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
She was born Dec. 28, 1906, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Isaac T. and Effie Bell Markley Danner. She married Robert D. McCormick on April 12, 1924 in Lewistown. He died Nov. 21, 1972.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one foster son, Gerald Gruber of Farmington; and one nephew she helped raise, Wilfred Danner of Galesburg.
She was a member of the Astoria Church of the Brethren where services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Fred L. Meisenheimer officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.
Memorial may be made to her church or to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of services.
