Reynold Miller, 75, of 707 W. 15th St., Sterling, died Friday, Jan. 18, 1985, at Swedish American Hospital, Rockford after a short illness.
He was born Aug. 10, 1909, at Augusta, the son of Oscar and Mary Kinney Miller. He was married to Mary H. Ommet on Oct. 11, 1930 at Mount Vernon. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Norma Hubbard of Sterling and Mrs. J. A. (Marilyn) Morris of Nappanee, Ind.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Rogers of Bushnell and Nina Johnson of Table Grove; two brothers, Ezra Miller of Monmouth and Laymond Miller of Sterling.
Mr. Miller lived in Bushnell, Macomb and Monmouth before moving to Sterling in 1941. He owned and operated the Ideal Cleaners in Sterling from 1944-1970. He was a member of the Wesleyan United Methodist Church, a member of Rock River Lodge #612 AF&AM, and a member of the Lions Club of Monmouth and Sterling. He was a former Sterling City Council member and was on the Police Commission 1957-1963.
Funeral services were held Jan. 22 at Allen Funeral Home, Sterling. Graveside services were held Jan. 22 at 3 p.m. at Bushnell Cemetery. A memorial fund was established to Lions Club International.
