Charles M. Markley Of Roseville Dies

Charles M. Markley, 90, of Roseville died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1981, at his home.

He was born June 26, 1890, in Arkansas, the son of Charles T. and Melissa A. Skiles Markley. He married Minnie V. Brent Oct. 13, 1913, in Moline. She died Feb. 2, 1952. He later married Vera M. Shafer Aug. 22, 1960 in Roseville.

He lived most of his life in the Roseville community and was a farmer. He was a member of the Roseville Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow; four sons, Glenn Gayman and Lloyd C., both of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Emmett of Roseville and Frank of Avon; two daughters, Mrs. George (Helen) Bayless of Cuba and Mrs. Carroll Arvin of Macomb; one step-daughter, Mrs. Jack (Donna June) McKinty of Yates City; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren and 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Corman Memorial Home in Roseville with Rev. Arthur Arpke officiating. Burial was in Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Markley was an uncle of Mrs. Freida McCormick of Astoria. The late Mrs. Belle Danner of Astoria was one of his six sisters.
