Minnie Montgomery Of Adair Dies

Mrs. Minnie A. Montgomery, 84, Adair, died suddenly about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at McDonough District Hospital where she was admitted during the late afternoon.

Mrs. Montgomery was born Oct. 18, 1885, in Schuyler County, the daughter of Thomas and Hannah Jane Sears Furniss. She resided near Astoria until her marriage on Jan. 15, 1908, to Roy H. Montgomery, when she moved to a farm in the Pennington Point community. She had resided there ever since. Her husband died Jan. 11, 1963.

She was a member of the Pennington Point Methodist Church.

Surviving are three brothers, Floyd Furniss of Bushnell, Ben Furniss of Juda, Wis., and Taylor Furniss of Table Grove, and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Batterton of Astoria and Mrs. Sadie Hamm of Lewistown. Two brothers, Arthur and Verne Furniss, and two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Mercer and Mrs. Mable Plate, are deceased.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Clugston Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Warren Christian officiating. Burial was in Pennington Point Cemetery.
