Mrs. Maggie Miller Dies In Missouri

Mrs. Maggie Miller, 79, formerly of Astoria, died Sunday morning in a Springfield, Mo. hospital where she had been a patient for about one week following an operation.

She had lived in Springfield for eight years after moving from Astoria.

She was born Sept. 26, 1884 near Astoria, the daughter of John and Sarah King Ruth. She was married to William M. Miller on Dec. 24, 1905. He died on July 1, 1949.

Mrs. Miller is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frances Dennen of Springfield, Mo., with whom she had made her home for the past eight years; and Mrs. Ruth Ausmus, Clayton, Ill.; one son, Harold Miller of Springfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Anna Myers of Seattle, Wash.; a brother Harve Ruth of DeKalb. One son and nine brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Good Shepherd Church of the Brethren in Springfield, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the Woodland Church of the Brethren. Rev. Galen Gerdes and Rev. Elmer Dadisman will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday morning at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
