Anton Meyer, 79, of Astoria, died about 6:20 Saturday evening at his home near Astoria following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Summum Christian Church. The Rev. Eugene Reynolds officiated and burial was in the Summum Cemetery.
Mr. Meyer was born Nov. 29, 1881 in Saint Nazianz, Wis., to Joseph and Victoria Fisher Meyer. He married Mary Markley on Sept. 18, 1921, at Reddick, Ill. She survives.
He was a member of the Summum Christian Church.
Surviving in addition to the widow is a brother, Wentten Meyer, and sister, Mrs. Helen Hughes, both of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. A brother died previously.
