William H. Mummert Dies In Home Of Daughter In Canton

William H. Mummert, 79, a farmer who resided most of his life near Astoria, died during the night Sunday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Harold Ellis of 240 South First Ave. in Canton. He had been in ill health for some time.

Born March 14, 1881, in Astoria, a son of Cornelius and Sarah Jane Cassel Mummert, he was married in May, 1907, to Nellie Mae Danner who preceded him in death on April 15, 1957.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Frances Ellis, with whom he resided at the time of his death, a son, William Carroll Mummert of DeKalb; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Gilson of Astoria, and six grandchildren.

A brother and a sister preceded him in death. Mr. Mummert was a member of the Summum Christian church.

Funeral services were held this afternoon in the Summum Christian church with the Rev. Eugene Reynolds officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Memorial Mausoleum.
