Aileen M. (Cooper) Lankford-Brandon, 98, of Macomb, formerly of Fountain Green, died at 6:25 a.m. May 16, 2020, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb.Aileen M. She was born Nov. 28, 1921, near Bath, a daughter of John Henry and Mabel Marie Gregory Cooper. She married Gilbert Andrew Lankford on Aug. 5, 1940. He passed away Dec. 21, 1980. She later married Baxter Brandon on Aug. 12, 1987. He passed away Feb. 14, 2019.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Lankford; three sisters, Judith Matthews, Dorothy Combes and Helen Richardson; one brother, John Henry Cooper Jr.; one grandchild, Kevin Lankford; and one great-grandchild.
Surviving are her children, Donna Fowler of Hannibal, Mo., and Delbert (and Connie) Lankford of Vermont; one sister, Maurine Schisler of Lewistown; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She worked at F.H. Woolworth Company for 26½ years. She then worked for T.G.&Y for almost six years.
Private graveside services will be held Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb with Reverend A. Lee Unger officiating. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.
