Joyce LehmanJoyce A. Lehman, 70, of Astoria died at 2:31 a.m. Sept. 16, 2018, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

She was born May 30, 1948, in Quincy, a daughter of James Robert and Irma Sophia Snyder Moody. She married Terry Lehman on Aug. 9, 1969, in Mount Sterling. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Alicia Lehman of Astoria; one brother, Roger (and Susan) Moody of Camp Point; two sisters, Sharon (and Rod) Martini of Buffalo Grove and Jan (and Chuck) Lodding of Lake Barrington; and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a registered nurse, keeping her license current up until five years ago. She entered the work force in the surgical department at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She then continued her nursing at the Astoria Healthcare Center in Astoria. Later, Terry and Joyce became owner/operators of the Astoria Sunshine Store and then in 1987, they started Studio Screens Express in Astoria.

She was a member of Astoria Area Chamber of Commerce. She served her community by being on numerous committees and was Astoria High School cheerleading sponsor for some time.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor David Little officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
