Edward LidwellEdward L. Lidwell, 92, of rural Lewistown died at 1:20 p.m. March 26, 2012, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born July 7, 1919, in St. David, a son of John and Nancy Renfro Lidwell. He married Delphia C. Plumlee on Nov. 6, 1943, in South Miami, Fla. She died April 18, 2010.

He also was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are one son, David (and Jean) Lidwell of Canton; one brother, Joseph Lidwell of Canton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He worked as a coal miner for 46 years before retiring.

He was a World War II Navy veteran.

He was a member of Lewistown Lodge 104 AF and AM and United Mine Workers of America.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Reverend Martha Danielson officiating. Military rites will be accorded by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and American Legion Bishop Post 1. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m.
