ALICE M. (HAYS) LONG LEBKUECHER

Alice LebkuecherAlice M. Lebkuecher, 87, of Beardstown died Feb. 5, 2011, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown.

She was born Dec. 9, 1923, near rural Beardstown, the daughter of John Alvin and Ruth Barbara Jaggers Hays. She married Robert George Long on Nov. 1, 1942. He preceded her in death in August 1950. She then married Charles Lebkuecher on Nov. 9, 1957, in Beardstown. He preceded her in death in February 1988.

Also preceding her in death was one son, Chuck.

Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn (and Garth) Cripe of Astoria; one son, John Robert Long of Jacksonville; one brother, John A. (and Evelyn) Hays of Jacksonville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She attended Black Oak Grade School and graduated from Beardstown High School Class of 1941.

She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beards-town. She was a bookkeeper for Hardwick Farms in Beardstown from 1978-1997, and prior to that, she worked for Bluff Springs Elevator, Philadelphia Elevator, Dr. Davidsmeyer, Dr. Merrihew, CIPS and Pat and Linda Harris.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Beardstown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Beardstown City Cemetery. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to her church or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
